Says 'Trick or Treat'
SANTA CLARITA, Calif.
Update: As this article was being prepared, we've received
word that a tentative agreement has been reached with Henry Mayo Newhall
Memorial Hospital. We'll post additional details as they become available.
On a picket line the night before
Halloween, members of UE Local 1004 and the California Nurses Association (and
lots of union kids) had a message for management of Henry Mayo Newhall
Memorial Hospital in Santa Clarita, Calif.: trick or treat. Management
rescinded its final offer; progress occurred in talks on Nov. 10. As the
UE NEWS went to press, further talks were scheduled; Local 1004
has given the hospital a 10-day strike notice, effective Nov. 22.
