Workers Gain $1.15
In 1-Year Agreement
CLIFTON, N.J.
Mondo Paper Co. employees, members of amalgamated UE Local
404, ratified a new one year agreement on Feb. 1. The contract will raise the
average rate by $1.15 this year.
Right up to the final hours of negotiations, the company
pushed hard for givebacks that would have required some co-pay for their
medical insurance. UE members firmly stuck to their convictions: "no
cutbacks."
The UE Mondo Paper shop committee consists of Chief Steward Gus
Peña and Luis Taveras. They were assisted by Local 404 Pres. Joseph
Miglino.
