Advance In New Contract
MINNEAPOLIS
Anderson Iron workers, members of amalgamated UE Local 1139
have ratified a new two-year agreement that added 81 cents to workers
hourly pay effective June 1. Another 81-cent wage hike takes place June 1,
2002.
The company will pay the full cost of the health and dental
coverage, both single and family. The company will pay up to $225 for
prescription safety glasses, once a year or when needed. As of this month, the
company will contribute another 5 cents to the UE Local 1139 Pension Plan. The
accident and sickness benefit goes to $400 a week for 26 weeks.
In an equity change, the press operator will be called machine
operator and moved to second class pay. The company adds another five minutes
to the first break for a total of 15 minutes.
