Local 329 members and officers invited spouses to attend the
February membership meeting — and that was just the beginning of the
hospitality.
Union members, including Local Pres. Tom Dininny,
cooked a hearty breakfast for all those who attended.
With the meeting taking place, as usual, in the local VFW
hall, Local 329 leaders took advantage of the kitchen to cook eggs, potatoes,
bacon, sausage and other fixings.
Union business followed immediately. Since elections took
place in January, the new officers were given the oath of office by Intl. Rep.
Bruce Klipple.
Local 329 puts on other family events throughout the year as
well. These Kennedy Valve workers are now planning a summer family cookout.
And every Christmas they have a Christmas party for members and their
families. Every child who attends leaves with a gift, besides having his or
her fill of pizza and other goodies. And, of course, Santa always appears.
Every year, Local 329 members vote to give a generous donation
to the Arctic League, a community-based organization that assists the most
poor and deprived children in the community.
