Lead to Early Settlement
With Koegels and Sons
HOLYOKE, Mass.
Early negotiations between amalgamated UE Local 264 and Charles Koegels
and Sons reached an early agreement on Aug. 13. Union members ratified a contract that
raises wages by 26 cents an hour effective Sept. 19. The average wage will now be $12.94.
The one-year contract increases the shoe allowance from $50 to $75 each
year for full-time employees and $75 every other year for part-time employees.
The negotiating committee consisted of Chief Steward Bill Sullivan and
Steward Diane Giroud. They were assisted by UE Field Org. Roberta Krause.
