Local 811 has reached a new three year agreement with U.S.
Filter that calls for a 3 percent wage increase in each year of the new
agreement. An additional 50 cents per hour goes to the operator in charge,
maintenance person on call and Biosolids technician. The certification bonus
is increase by $50 for Grade 1, $100 for Grade 2 and $150 for Grade 3.
All part-time Biosolids technician are made full-time with
full benefits, including sick leave, vacation and insurance. Future part-time
workers on the job for 24 or more hours will receive benefits on a pro-rated
basis.
The contract contains a new family medical leave. Expanded
funeral leave provides five days for spouse or child, all other immediate
family, three days; workers traveling more than 300 miles will receive two
days’ sick leave.
