A Wrong Righted
Simon Zarife, a worker at Cleveland Twist Drill/Greenfield Industries
in Solon, Ohio was unjustly fired in January 1997. His union fought for reinstatement,
winning an arbitration case which allowed Zarife to return to his job with full back pay
(more than $28,000) and all benefits. Zarife is third from left in the photo above;
celebrating with him are UE Local 777 Sec. Ron Navratil, Treas. Joe Totten, Vice Pres.
David Quintana and Pres. John Kodek. (Since the photo was taken Zarife decided to resign
from Cleveland Twist Drill and remain with a new job he obtained while awaiting the
outcome of his case.)
