Estimado Sr. Velasquez,
I write to you as a supporter of the UE and their current
struggle to achieve a union agreement with your company. We are
currently evaluating how to best support a resolution of this
conflict. For certain there will be a call to support a boycott of
your products.
In fairness however, I appeal to you as a Latino entrepreneur as
apart from my role as a trade unionist, I have been very active in
promoting Latino initiatives in business, education and politics. It
would be my desire to see your business succeed and be able to
promote your products with trade unions and other civic minded
agencies and organizations, which we count among our network of
supporters.
If there is a way in which I can be used to reconcile the
distance between you and the UE, I would be very happy to offer my
services. Apart from being a union president and a colleague of the
late Cesar Chavez, I am currently chair of the City of Toledo's
Hispanic Commission appointed by Mayor Jack Ford and intervene and
mediate on behalf of many Latino businesses, union members and
others with the city, public schools and employers.
Enclosed is a copy of my resume for your perusal. Contact me at
the above number or my private cell phone (xxx-xxx-xxxx) if you have
any questions.
Hasta La Victoria!
